1. What is your role at WAVE by AGC, and what are your key responsibilities?

I have two roles at WAVE by AGC. On one hand, I work for WAVEANTENNA, where I design and build antennas according to specific criteria and then install them at the customer’s premises. I am responsible for ensuring that the antennas meet certain performance standards through measurements before they are finalized at the customer’s site.

On the other hand, I work for WAVETHRU, primarily focusing on removing coatings from glass at the customer’s location according to predefined criteria. My responsibility here is to ensure that the signal quality is optimal.

2. How long have you been a part of the WAVE by AGC team, and what do you enjoy most about working here?

I’ve been with WAVE by AGC for two years. I enjoy interacting with customers and doing my best to meet their needs, but what I love most is the prototyping phase, where I work to achieve the requested frequencies.

3. Could you share a favorite project or accomplishment from your time at WAVE by AGC?

The Sambrinvest project. Thanks to the trust my manager placed in me, I was able to design the antennas independently and collaborate closely with the customer to position them in the most effective locations. I felt pleased and proud to have found the best solutions, and ultimately, the project was a success.

Welcome to the fourth edition of our “Meet the Team serie” to discover who’s behind our WAVE by AGC solutions.

Today, allow us to introduce Rafik Addaci, our dedicated #WAVEANTENNA Product Manager!

Wave Meet The Team Serie (format Blog) (1)

What is your role at WAVE by AGC, and what are your key responsibilities?

My key responsibilities as a Product Manager for WAVEANTENNA consist of analyzing customer needs, responding to their demand, and adapting our products to their expectations. To do this, I must guarantee product management: downstream for the marketing and optimization of existing products, but also upstream by anticipating new market needs and using my technical expertise to always offer innovative products to our customers to address their existing pains or respond to an innovation they are looking for.

What inspired you to join WAVE by AGC and be a part of the connectivity revolution?

The arrival and mass deployment of 5G is only a matter of time, even 6G is emerging in research centers around the world. Innovating and providing glass-related connectivity solutions, seemed very promising and enormously challenging. Indeed, glass facades, and glass in general, will inevitably be part of the new ecosystem that the deployment of new technologies and the growing need for connectivity will impose. As someone who loves challenges and innovation, joining this Wave adventure was also a way for me to get out of my comfort zone into a field that is completely different from what I have known before. Collaborating with glass experts opposes constraints, enriches exchanges, and therefore pushes innovation to its maximum.

What sets WAVE by AGC apart from other companies in the connectivity industry, and why are you proud to be a part of this team?

In the WAVE by AGC adventure (glass-related connectivity solutions) the challenge is always there from A to Z: bringing innovation to a “transparent” and “basic” product (glass), making two distinct worlds speak (the glass world, and the RF world) to find common ground force us to push innovation to the maximum of these two worlds, bringing differentiation and respond to a customer need, and finally the solutions must be part of a global AGC strategy which consists of developing increasingly sustainable solutions. While there were no guarantees, the result is that Wave by AGC has undoubtedly succeeded in developing products and solutions that are completely innovative and distinct from standard offerings in the market

What’s the most exciting aspect of your job, and how does it align with your passions?

Accompanying the product from its birth and taking all the challenges until finally seeing it marketed is really exciting. Managing the product requires me to play on several fronts (market study, development, production, pricing, marketing, customer satisfaction, etc.) and involves several exchanges with different collaborators from different domains and this is very enriching in terms of exchanges, learning and pushed you to innovate all the time.

What is your role at WAVE by AGC, and what are your key responsibilities?

As the Operation Manager for WAVETHRU, my main mission is to ensure that our customer will receive on time a quality service leading to resolution of their connectivity issue.

On the R&D side, acting as Product Owner allows me, based on feedbacks acquired in the field, to feed the development pipeline of our tools to make them more efficient and practical to use by our operator teams.

How long have you been a part of the WAVE by AGC team, and what do you enjoy most about working here?

Coming from another B2B AGC project, I joined the WAVE team a few months ago and what directly amazed me the most is the team dynamics and the will to support people to overcome their connectivity issues.

Even if our direct customer is usually the building manager, I really love that our service will mostly impact the residents and their quality of life.

What’s the most exciting aspect of your job, and how does it align with your passions?

My job consists not only on planning the course of the project but also to anticipate any issues and prepare the right reaction to make the process seamless for the customer.

This way of thinking joins my passion for strategic board game in which nothing is more exciting than when a plan comes together.

We are living in a constant evolving connected world where a simple connectivity issue could affect negatively our entire quality of life and work.

Welcome to the second edition of our “Meet the Team serie” to discover who’s behind our WAVE by AGC solutions.

Today, allow us to introduce Cynthia van Vroenhoven, our dedicated Business Developer for #WAVETHRU and #WAVETRAP!

Wave Meet The Team Serie Format Blog 1 1

What is your role at WAVE by AGC, and what are your key responsibilities?

Hello, I’m Cynthia, serving as the dedicated Business Developer for WAVETHRU and WAVETRAP within the Dutch market. It brings me great pride to introduce the innovative solutions crafted by our skilled and ingenious technical team at the Technovation Center in Gosselies, Belgium, to the Dutch market.

I am privileged to identify promising markets where our advanced connectivity solutions can truly make a substantial impact. Following this, I strategize on which stakeholders to engage with, aiming to ensure the comprehensive understanding and widespread acceptance of the solutions among all involved parties in a given project. That can be a bit of a search sometimes, influenced by the specific market dynamics and project scale. It often involves collaborating with entities such as building owners, ICT, and Facility Management.

Whether it involves optimizing connectivity within your building or vice versa, it’s essential to protect anything that requires shielding from radio waves.

My focus spans from optimizing indoor connectivity to safeguarding against radio wave interference, depending on the precise requirements. Upon identifying fresh market opportunities, my efforts revolve around capturing the interest of potential clients for our exceptional solutions. I aim to demonstrate a completely novel approach to addressing connectivity challenges within buildings, focusing on addressing the root cause rather than introducing additional technical components that emit radiation. This approach allows us to harness what is already securely available externally rather than artificially amplifying it.

What’s the most exciting aspect of your job, and how does it align with your passions?

The most thrilling part of my job is the opportunity to significantly contribute to a prosperous digital future. It’s incredibly rewarding to do so in a seamless and user-friendly manner through innovative solutions that address fundamental issues. The AGC principle, which encapsulates “Your dreams, Our challenge,” deeply resonates with me. Interacting with a diverse range of individuals – from colleagues to clients – and gaining the organization’s confidence in your abilities is truly fulfilling. It’s more than just performing well; it’s about making a meaningful impact as an individual. Both clients and colleagues recognize and appreciate the value you bring to the table.

Share a fun or interesting fact about yourself outside of work – a hobby, talent, or unique experience.

During my personal time, I thoroughly enjoy embarking on road trips with my two teenage boys, exploring various countries’ finest amusement parks, with a special focus on their exhilarating roller coasters! The sense of liberation that comes with driving, crafting itineraries, contemplating ideal destinations, and envisioning what I’d like my boys to witness and encounter – whether it’s a museum or the marvels of nature – is truly invigorating. The simple joy of being on the road with them, journeying while music plays in the background, pausing for coffee breaks or to admire breathtaking vistas – all of this encapsulates authentic freedom to me.

What do you find most rewarding about helping clients overcome connectivity challenges?

At times, our team’s efforts feel like pure magic! We manage to bring immense joy and tranquility to our customers, all by offering a solution that’s inherently straightforward: we essentially “open up” the windows, allowing connectivity to flow precisely where it’s needed. In our daily lives, the world is increasingly reliant on robust connectivity. There are moments when it even becomes a critical matter, such as when an elderly resident in a care facility urgently needs to reach a nurse through their personal alarm system.

Numerous innovations are continually emerging to enhance and digitize communication between individuals, both in professional and personal settings. However, the real comfort lies in its functionality. That’s where we come in – we ensure it functions seamlessly in a simple, passive, affordable and sustainable way. And we get the gratitude of our customers as a reward!
